Mayra Lissette Contreras, 22, died after receiving injections of silicone to the buttocks, CBS reports. Autopsy results are still pending, but she is thought to have died from respiratory problems after the operation.


"Stories like this are all too common," cosmetic surgeon Michael Kane told CBS. "I don't know any licensed professional who would inject large amounts of silicone into the body."


When silicone is used for breast implants, it is medical-grade and placed in the body in a capsule.

Underground cosmetic surgeons are not always so careful, using industrial silicone and injecting large quantities of the substance, rather than implanting it.

Mayra obviously wanted people to repeat the title of this post in regards to herself. Well, that backfired. How the hell do people have their lives come to this? Sure, dudes love the buttocks region to look great. But come on. How do you get to the point where you're handing a needle to a surgeon and begging him to jam the thing into your ass? You know those Livestrong wristbands are made of silicone right? So why would you consider it a good idea to just shoot silicone up your ass? Does that seem like the formula for success to you? This whole operation cost Mayra the couple of hours during that day, but it also cost her the 60 more years she could have lived. That whole time spans out to over a half-million hours. Which is almost 2 billion seconds. Think about what Mayra could have done with 2 billion seconds. If I spend 2 billion seconds searching for the cure to cancer, I'd probably be the most successful man in the world. Instead, Mayra sacrificed it all in an attempt to make her ass into a fake silicone can that ultimately backfired. Let this be a lesson. Either you got it or you don't. God decides that, not some weirdo's silicone needle. Be grateful for what you have ladies.
