The Rest of the ULTYs

Originally, the plan was to announce the ULTY Awards one at a time and glorify the winners. We announced the co-champions of the first ever award -- Most Valuable Commenter -- earlier this month. Well, after all this slacking and delaying, I just want to get these awards finished. They'll be better next time. But you're all anxious to find out, so I don't want to keep you any longer. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2010 ULTY Winners.

Most Valuable Commenter - Enahs & Fitch
See award description here.

Most Entertaining Commenter - Enahs
Enahs brings in his second award of the ULTYs, the first one that he captures single-handedly. His comment contributions are undeniable, and his mysterious name leaves our readers in awe. Fortunately for Enahs, we have launched the Forums section for even deeper conversation. If people would join him in discussion, we may actually start some really interesting debates.

Best Blogger - DRob
I'm not going write a paragraph praising myself. But I do want to thank the ULTY voters for your support. I took 100% of the vote in this category, but I guess it's kindof by default. I wouldn't be here without my fellow writers though. Biggups to those guys.

Unsung Blogger - Average Joe
It was a tight race throughout, but Average Joe ultimately garnered an impressive 42% of the vote to win the Unsung Blogger award. Joe ranks third among our currently active bloggers with 18 posts, and his volume is expected to increase as pitchers and catchers start reporting to Fort Myers next month. The C's and the Sox are his pride and joy, and both of those teams will start creating bigger headlines in the near future. Congrats to Average Joe and we hope the good work continues.

Most Improved Blogger - Ed B.
Taking 54% of the vote, it's Ed B for the win. Ed has been a consistent contributor for quite a while now, and he ranks at the top of our active supporting bloggers with 69 total posts made. Most of you remember his daily NBA recaps during last semester, and they often sparked some intriguing debates (our MVC & MEC, Enahs, certainly voiced his opinion there) -- but it's what we look for. Ed has taken his identity as a blogger and embraced it, always standing strong by his opinions and voicing those thoughts. An integral piece as any, we'll look for continued success from Ed.

Most Outstanding Athlete - Tom Brady
Brady took this one in a landslide, collecting 73% of the vote. We might want to change our mind in light of his most recent performance, but I'd rather not talk about it. He's still a bona fide superstar and the Packers will win the Super Bowl anyway, so we don't have to feel too down on ourselves.

Best Moment - Pats 45, Jets 3
Hmmph. I don't care about this too much anymore. But y'all voted it.

Ultimate MVP - Bill Belichick
The Most Valuable Person in Boston Sports, the fans have voted Bill. In Bill we trust, right? Well, aside from giving Patrick Chung the constant green light to run a fake punt whenever he wants. And eating up 8 minutes of a fourth quarter drive making the -- nevermind, I'm done. I still trust Bill, I've moved on, can't wait for draft day!

Favorite UB Post - "This is for the Puckheads" by DRob
I was a little surprised that this post took the win, but its 36% was enough for the victory. What can I say? Thanks, I guess. You can read the post here.

That's a wrap, folks. The 2010 ULTYs have been announced. This took me right up until the time that I have to run out to my next class. Did I mention it's -2 degrees outside? Oh well. At least the Jets got curb-stomped. How ironic. Rex usually likes feet, but when the foot is smashing their heads into a curb like yesterday, they're not so sexy anymore. Still hate the Steelers and their rapist though. GO AARON RODGERS!

  1. Thanks to all who voted, from everyone at UB. Especially to the ones who voted for me.

  2. "they often sparked some intriguing debates (our MVC & MEC, Enahs, certainly voiced his opinion there)" Screw Ed B, I'd still take Oden in the lottery.
