Tiger Storms Back
After the first two rounds of the US Open, Tiger Woods was quite a ways down there on the leaderboard. More rumors and gossip were swirling around him this week, and things could have very easily taken a nosedive. The only problem is, we're talking about Tiger Woods. On a golf course.
While Dustin Johnson still leads the Open at -6, Tiger fired a 66 today to drop his score for the tournament to -1 and place him in third on the leaderboard. A fantastic performance from Woods -- but we should be used to that by now.
Two years ago, Tiger put on the performance of a lifetime in the US Open. Battling torn ligaments in his knee, Tiger beat out Rocco Mediate in extra holes to win the open. His saving putt, the fist pump, and the roar of the crowd created a legendary memory. Vintage Tiger Woods. Will he be able to work similar heroics in the fourth round Sunday? Only time will tell.
But just remember -- regardless of his issues in the real world, Tiger Woods is still Tiger Woods on the golf course.
