Another Deal for the Rook
As if becoming the face and the future of the Boston Bruins organization wasn't enough, Tyler Seguin has inked himself another deal just a few months after getting that entry level contract squared away. This one, though, isn't with our beloved Bruins -- it's with Dunkin Donuts.
The Boston Business Journal reported this morning that Dunkin has officially signed Seguin to become their newest company spokesperson, and some of you may have seen the youngster starring in television advertisements for the new Caught Cold marketing campaign. Every Tuesday throughout the entire season, lucky fans that are "caught cold" drinking an iced coffee will be given two tickets to an upcoming Bruins game. Seguin is thrilled about the opportunity to team up with such a great company to help such a great community.
"It doesn't get any bigger than Dunkin' Donuts in Boston. They're an institution and I'm honored to work with them. It's even become part of my pre-game ritual. I drink a Dunkin' coffee before every game . . . Dunkin' Donuts' commitment to the community and their customers was very appealing to me, and I'm looking forward to giving Dunkin' and Bruins fans the opportunity to see me and my teammates at TD Garden through 'Caught Cold.'"
They say coffee isn't the best performance booster, but maybe I'll start trying it out before my intramural games if Seguin does it. Needless to say, it's been a pretty good year for the kid. Oh, and did I mention he doesn't turn 19 for another two months?

F'n-A. Guy's the man, and a solid hockey player so far. Hopefully they don't pull a Red Sox like they did with Jeff Bagwell and trade him. I want him to retire a Bruins legend.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can now rightfully call an athlete a kid, as I have 5 months on him. I love this kid!
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously hoping he retires a Bruins legend. That would be phenomenal. I don't think we'll trade him. We were so lucky to get that pick. The problem may be that the Bruins are notorious for not spending heavily. Once he becomes a star, he'll need top dollar. But over the past few years we've been spending a lot more (we're right at the cap now). Chiarelli isn't afraid to spend. That makes me believe that Seguin will be here as long as (A) Chiarelli is here and (B) he performs to his potential.
ReplyDeletei agree with you guys! & i Think this Kid will make a Name of him self! Whats not to like about this kid? hes a class act his Skills are nasty and hes a guy that you can Build Around! some say to order to have a championship Hockey team or Build championship Contender you have to have a great Center, it may not be this year but i believe hes going to turn in to a Great Center!
ReplyDeleteand another thing if i had to pick Hall Or Seguin i Pick Seguin becuase i think hes a Better Hockey Player than Hall! yeah Hall is a Great tallent but lets see if he can turn the Oilers to a Contender! and thats alot of pressure for a rookie,& seguin he has Less pressure becuase hes got good Vet Players around him plus hes not the main the Guy on the team! so that will help Seguin! come to think of it i kinda Wish Hall was drafted to a East team so There could be another great rivalry with Seguin! just like with Crosby & ovechkin! now that would be sick
