Average Joe's Confession (and the C's)
Alright, so here's the thing. I know this is a "Greater Boston" blog. And my hometown will always be just that. But currently, although I'm in New England, my college loyalties do not rest in Boston (unless I transfer).
I am a New Hampshire Wildcat. (Insert "High School Musical" reference here) (Don't lie, you have seen all 3 movies with your girlfriend and/or your parents)(Not that I have...). No, they do not have a baseball team. Yes, that pisses me off. But, we do play your local college (Northeastern, BC, BU, etc.) in Football, Hockey, Basketball (if your school has it). And since this is "Greater Boston", well...maybe we can extend the boundaries just a tad...
And we, as a whole, still route against the Yankees, so there aren't any worries there.
Also if you ever want to go to Water Country, I found it. Didn't realize how close I was to it. And I found it. But, I digress.
I am enjoying watching the C's perform thus far. KG's knees apparently feel fine, as he is back to averaging a double-double. Pierce and Ray are doing their work fine. Rondo is dishing out assists as if they grew on trees. Big Baby has been spectacular off the bench, whether its taking a charge or adding some offensive help, he's doing it.
There are some downsides. This team misses Tony Allen, and it's not just his defense. His ability to hit the jump shot and make explosive moves to the basket is something this team somewhat misses. But the bench has been OK. Marquis Daniels has shown some good signs, playing fairly good D and making the jump shot. Nate has been up and down; we haven't seen the scoring punch that he has shown us before. Semih Erden is progressing very well, and I would like to see him stay on the active roster when Delonte West returns, which will also give this bench an offensive boost.
One thing that isn't working? Having anyone named O'Neal on this team. Shaq wasn't playing too bad, but now he's injured. Jermaine has looked lost out there. He's not hitting shots or grabbing many boards. This will make Doc's decision for his starting Center come January very easily. And hopefully, Perkins can give the Celtics that much needed mid-season boost.
Limited action from Harangody; no action from Avery Bradley. But with time, we will see what these rookies can do. Other than that, no complaints from me. Heat/Celtics round 2 tonight!

Jermaine is a huge disappointment. I cringe when he and Nate Robinson are in the game at the same time. It's like watching the Real World/ Road Rules challenge and noticing Johnny and Evan are on the same season, just a mix of hate/anger/boredom/dumbfound-edness come through me.
