Brady Earns Offensive POY Honors
ESPNBOSTON.com - Brady won the honor (offensive player of the year) Tuesday for the second time in four seasons.
As a Patriots fan, should I be happier about this? I mean, it was fun to watch Brady pick defenses apart during the regular season, and it is cool to have one of your favorite players win a major award, but I'm just not ecstatic over this. Probably because the Patriots (including Brady) blew it against the Jets. I'd much rather have the Patriots be in the Super Bowl than to have Brady win this award. And anyone else who says otherwise is straight-up lying.
This award could lead to Brady being named the MVP as well. And again, I wouldn't care too much about that either. It all boils to winning games for most sports fans, and Brady and the Patriots failed to do that against a team they NEEDED to beat, not only to advance in the playoffs, but to shut them up. And they failed.
I'd still like to say congratulations to Tom Brady. Winning this award (and being a STRONG contender for MVP) is nothing to scoff at, and it still is pretty nice to see a player you constantly root for win it. But it still leaves somewhat of an empty feeling in the fans after the Patriots couldn't get it done.
How do you feel about Brady winning the award? Let us know YOUR thoughts.
