Rondo Withdraws from Team USA
Earlier today, Rajon Rondo was sources as saying that he believed he was on the bubble for making Team USA's roster. Just a few hours later, Rondo has called it quits to attend to what he is calling family matters.
The timing seems fishy for Rondo to really have family matters to attend to, but I personally can't even believe he was ever on the bubble. I mean, he's such a dynamic player and probably the best defending guard in the game. Even if Chris Paul were to get starts over Rondo, I think he would have definitely seen significant time off the bench. But whatever the reason, the Celtics' guard has withdrawn from the world championships. Hey, whatever... I guess it's just less of a risk that he hurts himself now or something. Or maybe he just wanted to get as far away from LeBron James as possible. Yeah, that's actually much more likely. Nobody likes LeBron James.
