- With last night's performance, Rajon Rondo has pushed his APG numbers to 15.1. The best passer in the history of the league, John Stockton, had his highest APG numbers at 14.5 (in 1989-1990.) I'm not saying Rondo will average 15 APG the rest of the season, but with the tools around him the single-season assist record is not so far-fetched. I said a few recaps ago that Rondo's numbers would dip considerably after the first couple of outrageous assist performances. Well, they haven't yet, and they might not this season.
- Another interesting note on Rondo is his foul shooting. Which, unlike his passing, is sub-par. Mike Gorman said toward the end of the game, "Hack-a-Rondo," a play on "Hack-a-Shaq" a strategy employed by teams facing Shaq to get him to the foul line, where he is a terrible shooter. Well it seems like teams may do this with Rondo, considering he is not very good at foul shots. It's like Shaq is passing the torch to Rondo. It was a touching moment for me.
In other NBA news:
- The GSW forgot how to score (which is what they do best) against Milwaukee, in a 79-72 loss. Was that a WNBA game? The GSW shot an abysmal 34.1% from the field. Milawuakee would naturally shoot better right? WRONG, they shot 33.7% from the field. Now we all know that the Bucks specialty is defense. But isn't offense Golden State's specialty? Running up scores with Monta Ellis and Curry in the back-court. This team will not do anything this seaosn because they don't play defense well enough and they struggle big time against good defensive teams.
- The New Orleans Hornets remained undefeated last night against Portland. Portland might have had a better chance at winning if Brandon Roy had shot better than 1-7 from the field, scoring only 2 points. But it seems like Roy has injured his knee, which could spell doom for a playoff contender.
MVP of the Night: Shaq Daddy (18 points, 6 rebounds, torch-passer)
