Why does their success sadden me? Because as you may recall, the Patriots traded Pro-bowl defensive end Richard Seymour to the Raiders prior to last season for Oakland's first round draft pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Most Patriots fans saw this as a great opportunity, as the Raiders have had top ten picks in 6 out of the last 7 NFL drafts, three of which were Top-5 picks. And there is a talented running back by the name of Mark Ingram (you may have heard of him) who is projected to be a high draft pick. It figures that the one time the Raiders are good the past eight years the Patriots have their draft pick, especially since there is a highly touted RB on the board, a position the Patriots need help with. Belichick probably wouldn't even take Ingram in that position, because he prefers trading good picks for 5 6th round picks. But it figures that the one time the Patriots have a chance at a blue-chipper running back at a high draft position, the team they got the pick from is good for the first time in about forever, almost guaranteeing the Pats won't get him.I guess the Patriots having an above-average RB again isn't meant to be for a while.
Danny Woodhead is the answer. He's basically the white version of Barry Sanders if you think about it.
