Newest Reports In Savard Saga
Another day, another interesting rumor in the Marc Savard trade saga between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Creating a stark contradiction from the previous few days' posts, many internet sources are claiming today that Leafs GM Brian Burke is looking at many names on the trade market, but "not including Marc Savard."
This is an interesting development in the story that, over the past few days, has led viewers to believe that there's no chance Savvy would be back in Boston come October. After today's news, though, and the July 1 free agent day looming, there's a chance we just might get to watch #91 playing at the TD Garden again.
I'm glad to hear it. Make one of your centers a winger. I previously said that I thought they should just make Seguin a winger. I have since re-thought that. I could completely understand if the Bruins want to make Seguin a franchise centerman. He makes the players around him so much better, his talents are definitely most valuable at center. Fine. Marc Savard is perfectly capable of playing winger, as is Patrice Bergeron. Even Krejci could if he had to. I think it's the better option, though, to keep your 4 dynamic centers and play one of them on the wing. They've got a whole offseason to learn the position. A hockey player is a hockey player, right? And on top of that, a forward is a forward. They're professionals. I think one of them can step up and make the transition. No need to make a foolish trade of Marc Savard. I'm very excited for the Bruins season this year. Very excited.
