Source: Celtics Targeting Brad Miller
So maybe it is the Celtics' new plan to target free agents that everyone hated before becoming a Celtic, and then hope that everyone decides to like them once they dawn the green? Because that is exactly the case once again as the Celtics reportedly target center Brad Miller in 2010 free agency. It is expected that Kendrick Perkins will miss a good portion of the 2010-11 campaign, so I guess the C's need another big man with the retirement of Rasheed Wallace. And just like I liked the signing of Sheed last year (even though I previously despised him), I guess I'd like this signing of Brad Miller (even though I despise him). He's a pretty solid big man to hold down the fort until the return of Kendrick Perkins, and he could be a legitimate big man off the bench. The C's lacked a legitimate center off the bench this year, with Glen Davis being only 6'9 and Rasheed Wallace being more of a perimeter big man. Although it would be great to see them spend their money on a second tier free agent like Joe Johnson, I guess the priority is picking up a big man. So, I suppose I might have to change my opinion on yet another Celtic that I previously hated.
Would you like this signing if it went through? Vote 1 for hate it or 5 for love it.
