From an actual analysis standpoint though, Boston is going to need some big minutes from some guys who aren't always the center of the attack. Rasheed has been claiming all season that he is a playoff kind of guy. Now's your chance to prove it, man! He'll most likely start in place of Perk. With that move, Big Baby will need to play more minutes off the bench and play them effectively. And, as much as I hate to say it, we will probably need to see some minutes out of Sheldon Williams. The guy needs to play better than he did in game 6 if Boston is going to bang with LA in the post.
In the past few games, Bynum's knee has swollen up and tightened on him after his first trip to the bench. For the Celtics, this would be a huge advantage. It didn't hurt the Lakers last game, because they were up by so much. But in tonight's game, without their best post defender, Boston is going to need to find a way to shut down Bynum and Gasol in the paint and on the boards. The team who wins the rebounding battle has been the team who wins the game in every contest this series. Whether that is just attributed to the loser's missed shots or not, I don't know. But either way, Boston needs to control the Lakers' bigs.
It's do or die time. The Celtics laid an egg (huge understatement) in game 6. They need to come out 183452 times faster and get some momentum right out of the gate. If they are able to do that, Boston just might have a chance to deliver the Lakers a deja vu and hang banner #18 at the Garden next October.
