This Day in Sox History: June 13, 2005 - Sox Name Left Field Pole After Fisk
Five years ago today, the Red Sox held a pre-game ceremony at Fenway Park before their game against the Cincinnati Reds. It was the first time the Reds had visited Fenway since the 1975 series during which Carlton Fisk hit his famous homerun over the monster. The Sox named the pole after him, deeming it the "Fisk Foul Pole." It joined Johnny Pesky as the two Red Sox greats to have foul poles named after them at their historic ballpark.
