Manny Gets Mixed Bag From Fenway
For the first few seconds, this was definitely one of the toughest ovations to figure out. You're hearing boos, you're seeing cheers. Very overwhelming. But as it went on, you can clearly see how mixed a reaction this was. Pretty much split down the middle. Pretty satisfying from the Sox faithful, I'd say. I don't support total boos -- guy won us two World Series. Without Manny, we might be in an ongoing 92-year curse to this day. I also don't support the total cheers -- he left down on a terrible note, and he never showed an ounce of love for the fans of this city. So, I think the mixed reaction was appropriate. Handled well by the Sox fans. Proving once again that despite being the most unruly and boisterous crowd, they're certainly one of the most knowledgeable crowds as well.
At least that's out of the way, though. Now the baseball can continue without the extra drama. And Felix Doubront has started his Sox career with a solid two innings of work. Hopefully he can continue to impress and get some run support along with it.
