Sox K Manny Twice En Route to 10-6 Win
Manny Ramirez's return to Yawkey Way didn't go quite as he had planned tonight, going 1-5 with 2 strikeouts against his former team. The Sox were able to stifle the Dodgers' offense long enough to build a 10-3 lead, and they ultimately held on for a 10-6 victory. Adrian Beltre, David Ortiz, and JD Drew each hit round trippers for the Sox, who moved within 1 game of the AL East lead with the victory.
Sox rookie Felix Doupront made his Major League debut on the mound and hurled 5 innings, yielding 3 earned runs. Doupront's fastball was pretty good, and it was a decent first start for the kid. He obviously has some fine-tuning to do, but the potential is definitely there for the southpaw.
Boston and LA -- the matchup that has seemingly gone on for ages now -- will continue tomorrow as Tim Wakefield takes the hill for the Sox.
PS -- About to make another post because I just got some ridiculous Bruins news.
