VOTE NOW on Fight #16: Pierce vs Moss
vs
The Matchup: Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce vs. New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss.
The Fight: This is another great matchup between Boston sports athletes. How do I choose a winner? Pierce is 6'7", Moss is 6'4". Pierce weighs 235, Moss 210. Paul's got the size, but Randy's got the speed. And despite Pierce's height advantage, I think Randy's got a better reach. That means he's going to want this fight standing up. I don't think Moss competes with Pierce in the ground game -- too lanky and wirey, not enough muscle on the bones. His reach is the biggest advantage. The problem for Moss is, I don't know if he can knock out Pierce in a stand up game. Pierce did get stabbed 17 times, don't forget. A few punches may not phase him. Randy could win a decision, though. So it's real tough to call. Randy is still hungry for the promised land. Pierce has already gotten there, but is hungry for another ring. Motivation is a push. Randy strikes me as being a little crazier than Pierce, but Pierce has never -- ever -- been criticized for lack of effort. It just leaves that spec of doubt on the Moss side of the argument.
My Vote: It's another tough one to call, but in the end, I can handle the truth. It's the Truth coming out on top in this fight. I love Randy and he's going to beast on cornerbacks this season, but I don't know if he can beast on Pierce. Pierce has the all-around package, and when his game is on, he's damn near impossible to beat. Paul Pierce hangs tough and delivers the tactical blows when the time is right. He wins a unanimous decision from the judges.
YOUR TURN. YOU GOTTA VOTE. WHO WINS?
