Oh my God. Brett Favre has told the Minnesota Vikings that he plans to retire and will not return for a second season with the team. I admit it. I was wrong all along. I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell of Brett Favre retiring. Of course, he still might change his mind and we all know that very clearly. But he has said he is going to retire, and that in itself is a shock to me after everything. The bitter end to last year, the offseason shoulder surgery. I just can't even fathom a Favre retirement at this point. Incredible. How bout them Vikings? Do they have a chance without Favre? I don't know any of the answers at this point, but these indications seem to point to us never seeing #4 hurl the pigskin ever again. Weird.

I'll take this announcement with a grain of salt. Knowing him he'll end up in another city soon. I hope he retires because I'm sick of him, but I highly doubt he's hanging them up.
