This Day in Sox History: June 10, 2005 - Red Sox Play Cubs at Wrigley for First Time in 87 Years
Yes sir. Five years ago today, the Red Sox played at Wrigley field for the first time in 87 years. In other words, the Sox didn't play at Wrigley once during the course of the entire curse of the Bambino. Pretty crazy scheduling if you as me. I would have figured maybe like 50 or 60 years into each team's respective curses, maybe they would have started matching them up together. Even if it was for no reason other than making a good storyline. Anyway, the previous time before this that the Sox played the Cubbies was in 1918, when the Sox rode a great pitching performance from Babe Ruth to a victory over Chicago. Yikes!
