Cage Fight Pick 'Em: Pierce vs Kobe

We've got ourselves a matchup that corresponds with real life tonight. Pierce vs Kobe. Bringing it to the octagon. Real life series is split 1-1. Let's see who takes the lead brawling it out like men.

Pierce: The Truth. You look at Pierce and you see a size advantage. You see a guy who has battled adversity his whole life. A guy who always had a terrible team, but stuck with it. He showed great loyalty, and it paid off when the right pieces finally came together. Pierce is a big guy, not as defined as Kobe, but bigger. We've seen him take hits to the face and battle straight through them. He's very clutch, but Kobe could be a bit clutcher when it comes to the end of the game. Nonetheless, with Pierce, you're getting a full effort and a very aggressive style. And he's very tough to rock.

Kobe: Clear to say he has not handled adversity in his life the way Pierce has. The fact that he has a mug shot for committing a crime has to be a detriment to that exact area of analysis. Handling adversity. Another thing I notice about Kobe is his willingness to work as a team. Yeah, he racks up assists sometimes. But what if a teammate told Kobe the best decision was for someone else to have the ball in the last minute? He wouldn't have it. He's selfish. Not Paul Pierce. Those days of Pierce are over. Pierce just wins. Kobe is clutch though. And probably the most dominant one-on-one perimeter player in the world. But with a size disadvantage and no "star treatment" from referees, it's going to be tough for Kobe to have with PP.

X-Factor: The X-Factor is whether or not Kobe's physical and mental toughness can match that of Paul Pierce. Unfortunately for Kobe, he's incapable.

The Decision: Paul Pierce ground-and-pounds Kobe into a TKO, whereby Kobe is defenseless and the referee stops the fight for his safety.
