Strasburg Impresses in Debut
Well, the extremely highly anticipated debut of Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg was last night. Overshadowed by the NBA Finals, Strasburg still managed to put on a show for all crowds. Through 7 innings of work in his first major league start, the rookie surrendered just 4 hits and a 2-run homer. The most impressive stat, however, may have been his 14 strikeouts, including 7 in a row at one point. Following this start, there is one thing about Strasburg that nobody can deny: his stuff is unreal. Hurling a fastball (consistently at 97-100), a slurve, a sinker, and a changeup, he's going to be nearly unhittable every time he's on his game. You might just see a no-hitter from this kid in his rookie year, given this year's trend of pitching gems.
